Meet Dr. Karen Quinn

Who Am I...

Hello, I'm Dr. Karen – a multifaceted individual passionate about holistic health and proactive well-being. As a dedicated Chiropractor and advocate for natural healthcare, I've built a boutique family practice in Calgary, Alberta, nurturing my love for anatomy, physiology, and proactive health discovered during my studies in Exercise & Health Physiology at University.

Graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in February 2006, I've since expanded my expertise by completing a 200h yoga teacher training, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Rocktape movement analysis, taping, as well as a collection of functional brain-based courses for a more comprehensive approach to wellness.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I'm a fitness enthusiast and nature-lover, finding joy in hiking, biking, yoga, strength training, and swimming – anything that keeps me active and moving. I'm thrilled to collaborate with a team of like-minded practitioners dedicated to natural holistic healthcare. Together, we're committed to fostering a healing space where you can embark on your wellness journey."

My Philosophy & Approach...

As a Calgary-based Family Wellness Chiropractor and holistic lifestyle educator, I use gentle techniques to facilitate postural correction and sustainable change to help individuals live a life of optimal health and vitality.

Chiropractic focuses on achieving optimal nervous system health, body balance with additional lifestyle support to not only add years to lives, but more importantly, life to years. True health to me, is about efficient and top function and can not be defined by the absence of illness or injury.

I meet you where you are at and together, we create a plan to move you forward and reach the health goals you have set. I have a commitment (to you and my inquisitive brain) to constantly learn, grow and collaborate.

I am constantly amazed at the capacity for the body to heal once interference is removed. We are more than the sum of our parts, and since nothing in nature works in isolation, getting to the root cause of injury or illness involves looking beyond the symptoms. The nervous system touches every cell, gland, organ and ultimately function of the body, thus is fundamental to overall health.

Techniques

No two people have the same history, circumstances, goals or needs. With a variety of gentle and specific tools in the technique toolbox, we can work through a variety of issues so you can get the best results possible.

I primarily use instrument-based adjustments (torque release), but also use Thompson (drop technique), a variety of soft tissue techniques (as needed) and Muscle Activation Technique. I occasionally will use manual adjustments to improve spinal mobility. I have experience in NUCCA and Blair upper cervical techniques and have studied movement and fascial lines through Anatomy Trains.

I have completed multiple concussion and trainings to assess neurology in a functional way.

“90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by the

movement of the spine” - Dr. Roger Sperry, 1981 Nobel Prize Winner for Brain Research
